Chiropractic treatment is the cornerstone of our practice which includes motion palpation of the spine to help detect subluxations. Subluxations are vertebrae with altered position and movement in the spine leading to structural and neurological changes in the body. Chiropractic adjustments are performed at these impacted areas to correct and restore spinal function, movement, and health. In addition, Dr. Muldavin uses myofascial and active release techniques (trigger point therapy), traction and post-isometric relaxation to augment the effects of the chiropractic adjustment. Physical therapy modalities such as electric muscle stimulation, ultrasound, super pulse laser and the application of ice and/or heat packs, may be utilized if indicated.
Functional Rehabilitation & Exercise
Dr. Muldavin is certified in Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS), a groundbreaking set of neurodevelopmental and rehabilitation principles developed by the Prague School of Rehabilitation and Manual Medicine. Dr. Muldavin utilizes the Functional Movement Screen (FMS), which is a unique set of screening tests to determine musculoskeletal readiness for activities of daily living (ADL). The test (FMS) and subsequent functional exercises are ideal for patients who would like to regain activities they have lost due to injury, being sedentary or the aging process.
Whether you’re an active “seasoned” citizen or weekend warrior, Dr. Muldavin’s sports chiropractic can enhance performance and increase function. Using Functional Movement Screen and an Extremity Analysis to diagnose muscle weakness and movement pattern dysfunction from new or chronic injuries, Dr. Muldavin will then develop a specific adjustment and rehabilitation program to improve athletic ability.
